Count every location, then post one set of adjustments
Count gives every item a location, records who counted it and when, and posts to QuickBooks Online only the changes a manager has approved, once the plan is complete.

QuickBooks knows how many. It does not know where.
QuickBooks Online keeps one quantity on hand per item. It does not know where that quantity sits. Count gives every item a location, so a variance points at a location instead of starting a search.
Nothing posts to QuickBooks until a manager approves the discrepancy, and nothing posts while the count is still running.
An item nobody counted is never zeroed automatically. A manager approves it as zero or ignores it, one item at a time.

Web app
Plan the count and follow it from your desk while your team works the floor.
- Build a count plan for the locations you are counting
- Snapshot baselines before counting begins
- Variance reports, plus count history by item and by location
- Export to Excel or PDF
On the floor
What a counter does on a phone, in the order they do it.
- Scan the location before you count it
- The counter scans or types the location label, and the app will not take a count there until it matches. A label that is not in the plan is refused.
- A label the catalog does not know does not stop the count
- The counter links the label to an item they already have, or adds the item on the spot and keeps counting. An item a counter adds is flagged for a manager to review on the web.
- Your team’s phones, or the scanner you already own
- Count runs on iOS 16 and later and on Android 8 and later. A hardware barcode scanner works too, as keyboard input. The camera reads Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, EAN-8, QR, Data Matrix, Codabar and ITF, with a flashlight for dim aisles. Large keypad readout, a dark theme for the warehouse and a light one for the office, a low-visibility mode with larger text, and a vibration when a scan is confirmed that you can switch off.
- Several counters, one plan, no collisions
- Everyone counts from their own phone in the same plan. On a standard plan a location belongs to whoever counts it and a second counter cannot add to it. A manager can instead set a plan to let several people count one location together.

What Count does
Connects to QuickBooks Online
Import your items and on-hand quantities, count using that snapshot as your reference, and post back the changes a manager has approved once the plan is complete.
Five languages in the app
The web and mobile apps run in English, Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese.
Unlimited users on paid plans
Every paid plan includes unlimited users and unlimited warehouses, so adding a counter for count week costs nothing extra.
Import from CSV or Excel
Bring in items and locations from a spreadsheet. Count supports item aliases and more than one barcode per item.
Roles and an audit log
User, Manager, Finance, and Admin roles, with count history by item and location and an audit log behind them.
Variance reports
Review discrepancies on screen, then export the variance report to Excel or PDF.
Not on QuickBooks
Import your items and locations from Excel or CSV, run the count the same way, and export the variance report to Excel or PDF. You post the adjustments in your own system.
Unlimited users on every paid plan
Paid plans carry no per-seat fee, so bringing in extra counters for count week costs nothing more.

Common questions
Does it work with QuickBooks?
Count connects to QuickBooks Online. It imports your items and on-hand quantities, and posts back only the changes a manager has approved, once the plan is complete.
Does it connect to QuickBooks Desktop?
No. InventoryWare Count connects to QuickBooks Online. A company on Desktop or another system imports its item list and quantities from a spreadsheet and enters the adjustment in its own system from the exported variance report.
Is the QuickBooks link ongoing?
Yes. The company owner or an admin can pull your items and quantities from QuickBooks again at any time; each count uses the quantities from the most recent pull, and the snapshot shows the date and time it was taken. Pull once more the morning you start counting so QuickBooks and the floor are as close as they can be.
Can I do a partial or cycle count?
You can count and report on any set of locations you choose. Posting adjustments to QuickBooks from a partial count is not available.
What happens to items we did not count?
They are never zeroed automatically. A manager approves each uncounted item as zero or ignores it, and only what a manager approves posts.
What if a counter misses a shelf?
A manager reopens the location from the web, keeping the counts already saved, and the counter adds the missing item. If a recount changes a quantity that was already approved, that approval goes stale and has to be re-approved before it can post. Every saved count carries who entered it and when; the count row itself is not versioned, and a manager's edits on the web are written to the audit log.
What barcode scanners does it work with?
Count scans with the camera on iOS 16 and later and on Android 8 and later, and reads Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, EAN-8, QR, Data Matrix, Codabar and ITF. A hardware barcode scanner works too, as keyboard input.
What happens if the signal drops?
Counting needs a connection. If a save fails, the phone tells you and keeps your entry on the screen so you can retry it. Nothing is queued in the background, and nothing is lost without telling you. For a corner with no signal at all, count it on paper and a manager keys it in from a browser afterwards.
Can one count cover two warehouses?
Yes on a paid plan. Warehouses are unlimited on every paid plan, and a plan set to count all locations takes every location across every warehouse.
Do counters need a company email?
No. Count does not require a company email domain. The owner or a company admin invites each person, and accepting the invitation grants the role they need to count.
What can I export?
Items and locations export to Excel, and all eight reports export to Excel and PDF. Report exports are queued and delivered to the File Hub rather than downloading on the spot. Item aliases do not export.
Do I need a full WMS?
No. Count does structured physical counting with variance tracking. Receiving, putaway, picking, and shipping are a warehouse management system’s job, not ours.
